Explore the ministry opportunities for your children at The Resolved Church

R | Kids Ministry

Please note, at this time we are not holding any children's ministry classes due to the restrictions imposed by COVID-19. We are working diligently to determine the safest way for your children and our volunteers to meet soon!

The Resolved Church cares deeply about family and kids. We see that the story of God in the Bible is a story of God gathering a people for himself. This involves physical births and spiritual new births where we are adopted into God’s family through Jesus.

So, each week at The Resolved Church, our kids (infant through 6th grade) experience safe, age-appropriate environments where they learn about Jesus in a creative and relevant way.

Your first visit

Here's what to expect when visiting R | Kids for the first time:

First, find the area marked for R | Kids. There we will meet your family, check your child into our system, and then one of our volunteers will lead your child to their age-appropriate room.

Upon checking in for the first time, we will ask for the following personal information (NOTE: We value your privacy and will not share this information with anyone):

  • Parent/guardian name(s)
  • Child's name
  • Child's birthdate
  • Home address
  • Phone number
  • Any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for your children

How check-in works

Before Service: You can check-in your child at any available kiosk. After finding your child’s name in the database, you and your child will be given matching name tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear the name tag portion while you hold on to the matching tag.

After Service: After the service is complete, you will return to your child’s room and show your tag in order for your child to be released back to you.

During Service: In the event that we need to contact you during the service, we will text you! We ask that you exit the auditorium immediately and look for a staff member or volunteer who will direct you to your child’s room.

Mothers Nursing Room

We also have a Mothers Nursing Room that is available for mothers with infants. This room is reserved exclusively for mothers with infants to enjoy the service in a more private and quiet environment.

The Lessons

Each week’s lesson parallels what is being taught in the main service and is modified for age-appropriate apprehension. For example, in the Toddler/Preschool rooms, the gospel is proclaimed through playtime and storytelling while in the older classrooms a more structured lesson is given through Bible reading and questions/answers. By structuring the lessons to parallel the main sermon parents can then reinforce what their children learned in class throughout the week.

R | Kids Catechism

The Westminster Shorter Catechism is recognized as the most well-known catechism ever written and was designed to teach kids sound doctrine. Catechism is a great aid for spiritual leadership in the home. Children’s young minds are able to memorize very easily. Using a catechism is an extremely useful tool to teach and train children in what God has revealed to us in His Word for our good.

Covenanting Your Kids

Once a quarter, we either dedicate or baptize children as a sign of covenanting them to the Lord. If you are interested in either dedicating or baptizing your children, read this article and sign up!
